Are you a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding long-term role supporting children with additional needs?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting qualified SEN Specialist Teaching Assistants to work in mainstream primary schools across the Chesterfield area from September. We have a variety of opportunities available, including part-time and full-time roles (up to 5 days per week), supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs.

As a SEN Specialist TA, you will play a vital role in supporting children both within the classroom and in dedicated breakout areas, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their potential.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils with additional needs including ASD, ADHD, communication difficulties, and other SEND requirements
  • Working alongside class teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored support
  • Providing one-to-one and small group interventions
  • Supporting children's emotional regulation, social development, and independence
  • Building positive relationships with pupils to help them feel safe, valued, and engaged in learning
  • Creating a calm, supportive, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified or experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a strong understanding of SEND
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs in a primary school setting
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Confident building positive relationships with children who may display challenging behaviours
  • Able to adapt support to meet individual learning needs
  • Passionate about helping young learners thrive
