Are you a nurturing and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children in their early years?
A welcoming primary school in DE22 is seeking a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team on a full-time basis. This is a varied and rewarding role, working both in a 1:1 capacity and within the wider classroom environment.
The Role - 5 days per week
The successful candidate will spend 2 days per week providing dedicated support to a child with additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and develop key social and communication skills.
For the remaining 3 days per week, you will work within the wider EYFS classroom, supporting children's learning through play-based activities, small group interventions and general classroom support.
This role offers the perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with children while also being an active member of a busy and engaging Early Years setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support tailored to the individual child's needs.
- Encourage the child's social, emotional and academic development.
- Support learning through engaging and creative activities.
- Assist with observations and assessments in line with the EYFS Framework.
- Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies.
- Support the wider EYFS class with group activities and daily routines.
- Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
- Has previous experience working within an EYFS setting.
- Experience supporting children with additional needs is desirable.
- Is patient, caring and adaptable.
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrates a genuine passion for supporting young children's development.
- Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant or childcare qualification (desirable).
