SEN Teacher - Liverpool

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child feels supported, valued, and encouraged to succeed.

You may be supporting pupils with:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD & SLD)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Complex learning needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, parents, and external agencies.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support pupils' emotional wellbeing.
  • Inspire pupils to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND in either a mainstream or specialist setting.
  • A strong understanding of a range of additional needs and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
