Help Young People Build Confidence, Skills and Brighter Futures
Are you the kind of person who sees potential where others see barriers?
Do you believe that the most powerful learning happens through relationships, real-life experiences, and opportunities beyond the classroom?
We're looking for exceptional Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants to join our therapeutic SEMH team and support children and young people to achieve more than they ever thought possible.
You'll work alongside experienced educators and therapeutic professionals to deliver personalised learning, community outreach, and meaningful experiences that help young people develop emotionally, socially, academically, and vocationally.
Every day is different-and every day matters.
What Makes Us Different?
We believe that education should prepare young people for life.
Our learners benefit from a therapeutic, holistic approach that combines personalised education with community-based learning, outdoor experiences, employability programmes, life skills, and enrichment opportunities.
Whether it's supporting a learner in a local business, helping them prepare for work experience, delivering learning in the community, or celebrating a breakthrough in confidence, you'll play a key role in helping them build a positive future.
Your Role
Working as part of our specialist SEMH team, you will:
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.
- Support personalised learning both within our provision and through outreach in community settings.
- Help learners develop confidence, independence, emotional regulation, communication, and resilience.
- Deliver engaging practical activities that promote teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, and wellbeing.
- Support learners to access work experience, volunteering opportunities, enterprise projects, and employability programmes.
- Encourage the development of life skills, including travel training, budgeting, communication, teamwork, and preparing for adulthood.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, families, therapists, employers, and community partners to achieve the best outcomes for every learner.
- Celebrate progress, recognising that success looks different for every young person.
Who We're Looking For
We're seeking people who are compassionate, resilient, and committed to helping young people succeed.
You will ideally have experience working with children or young people with:
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Trauma and attachment difficulties.
- Autism and ADHD.
- Emotional regulation and challenging behaviour.
- Additional learning needs.
Just as importantly, you'll demonstrate:
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
- Emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A positive, proactive attitude with plenty of initiative.
- Creativity and confidence in delivering engaging learning experiences.
- A genuine passion for helping young people prepare for adulthood, employment, and independent living.
- Flexibility to work in classrooms, community settings, outdoor environments, and through outreach.
A full UK driving licence is desirable due to the nature of our community-based work.
What You'll Gain
We invest in our people because exceptional staff create exceptional outcomes.
You'll benefit from:
- Ongoing specialist training in therapeutic and trauma-informed practice.
- A supportive and collaborative team culture.
- Opportunities to develop skills in outreach, mentoring, employability, and community engagement.
- Career progression within a growing therapeutic education provision.
- A varied, rewarding role where no two days are the same.
- The opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people.
Who Will Thrive Here?
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys thinking creatively, building meaningful relationships, and helping young people succeed in the real world-not just the classroom.
