Tradewind Recruitment are working with a specialist secondary school in Enfield to recruit a dedicated English Teacher for a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026.

The school supports students aged 11-19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a nurturing, therapeutic environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive staff team that values strong relationships, high expectations and inclusive teaching.

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will:

  • Inspire students to develop their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
  • Adapt teaching to meet the individual needs of learners with SEMH.
  • Monitor progress and use assessment to support pupil achievement.
  • Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, resilience and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team to create a positive learning environment.
  • Promote high expectations and support students to achieve their academic and personal goals.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching English at secondary level.
  • Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Is resilient, patient and committed to inclusive education.
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one.

Previous experience working within an SEMH or SEND setting is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from passionate English Teachers with strong behaviour management skills who are looking to transition into specialist education.

What We Offer

  • Competitive rates of pay.
  • Dedicated support from an experienced Tradewind Recruitment consultant.
  • Free access to over 2,500 CPD courses through The National College.
