Locations: Blackpool & Preston, Lancashire
Salary: £24,500 - £25,500 per annum, FTE (Depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Long-term Contract (Full Academic Year)
Start Date: September 2026
Working Pattern: 5 days a week (Monday to Friday, Term Time Only)
Are you an experienced or highly motivated SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a secure, long-term placement for the upcoming academic year?
We are recruiting dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to provide crucial 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Positions are available across a network of reputable schools and specialised provisions in both Blackpool and Preston.
If you want the stability of a full-time, 5-day-a-week role that spans the entire academic year, this is the perfect opportunity to make a lasting impact on a child's educational journey.
The Role
In this targeted support role, you will be key to unlocking a child's potential. Working closely with Class Teachers and the SENDCo, you will ensure that the specific adjustments, accommodations, and learning goals outlined in a pupil's EHCP or IEP are met daily.
EHCP & IEP Implementation: Deliver tailored interventions to help pupils achieve their specific academic, social, and behavioral milestones.
1:1 & Small Group Mentoring: Provide focused attention to pupils with diverse needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Classroom Collaboration: Support the main class teacher by adapting learning materials, managing classroom transitions, and creating a highly inclusive learning environment.
Progress Tracking: Observe, record, and report on pupil progress, contributing valuable insights during routine IEP reviews and annual EHCP assessments.
What We Are Looking For
Proven SEND Experience: Prior experience supporting children or young people with additional needs (provisions, mainstream, or care settings).
Strong Understanding of IEPs/EHCPs: Familiarity with how to read, interpret, and actively implement a child's specific support plan.
Reliability & Commitment: Because consistency is vital for SEND pupils, we need individuals who can commit to a full-time, 5-day-a-week schedule for the complete academic year.
Resilient & Empathetic Character: A patient, calm-under-pressure mindset with excellent de-escalation and communication skills.
Safer Recruitment: Hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
What We Offer
Guaranteed Long-Term Stability: A secure contract running from September 2026 through to July 2027.
Competitive Pay: £24,500 - £25,500 FTE (Paid weekly).
Professional Growth: Direct access to ongoing SEND training, including safeguarding updates, trauma-informed practices, and behaviour management toolkits.
Dedicated Consultant Support: A seamless on-boarding process with localised support across Blackpool and Preston schools.
