Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Scunthorpe. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher or experienced Food Technology specialist looking to inspire students and develop their practical cooking, nutrition, and food preparation skills.
The successful candidate will join a supportive department committed to delivering engaging and creative lessons that encourage students to develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong understanding of healthy eating and food science.
The Role
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Inspire students to develop practical cooking skills and knowledge of nutrition
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
Ensure all health and safety procedures within the food technology department are followed
Contribute to the wider life of the school and department
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
Experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary school setting
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for food education
The ability to motivate and engage learners of all abilities
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
