Are you resilient, empathetic, and ready to transform young lives?

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a progressive secondary school in Lancaster this September.

Working within the school's dedicated pastoral and inclusion support team, this role is vital in helping secondary pupils overcome social, emotional, and behavioural barriers and re-engage successfully with their education.

If you have a background in youth work, sports coaching, residential care, or challenging behaviour support, this is your chance to step into a rewarding role where you can make an immediate, lasting impact.

Why Choose This Role?

  • Competitive Pay: £110 - £130 per day (PAYE setup with holiday pay included).
  • Career Growth: A temporary-to-permanent opportunity for candidates who prove their dedication.
  • Impactful Environment: Work directly with secondary-aged pupils at a critical stage of their academic and personal development.
  • Supportive Environment: Collaborate closely with experienced Heads of Year, SENCOs, and dedicated pastoral staff.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Providing 1-to-1 and small group mentoring to secondary students who struggle with mainstream classroom environments.
  • Utilising positive behaviour management and effective de-escalation techniques within dedicated intervention spaces or classrooms.
  • Building trusting, professional relationships to mentor pupils through emotional regulation, attendance hurdles, and academic pressures.
  • Working alongside teaching staff to implement behaviour support plans and track student progress.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience supporting secondary-aged young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH, or working within a school/youth mentoring setting.
  • High emotional resilience, patience, and exceptional communication skills.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to process a new one via PAYE).
