Teaching Assistant - Full-Time Roles

Monday to Friday | SEN Schools in Canterbury & surrounding areas

We are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants for full-time positions within SEN schools across Canterbury and the surrounding areas.

  • Potential long-term opportunities within SEN schools - you must be available to work Monday to Friday on a long-term basis.
  • Some positions may also offer the opportunity to become temporary to permanent.
  • Location: Canterbury and surrounding areas
  • Pay Rate: £93 per day

Our client schools support children and young people with a wide range of additional needs, including complex sensory needs, medical needs, moderate learning difficulties and behavioural needs. The schools cater for pupils across both primary and secondary age ranges.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement, confidence and personal development.
  • Support students with managing their behaviour and understanding the impact of their actions.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents and other professionals to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Help deliver highly personalised programmes designed to meet individual student's needs.

What We're Looking For:

  • A compassionate, patient and adaptable individual with a genuine interest in supporting children and young people.
  • Previous experience within education, care or supporting individuals with additional needs is desirable.
  • You must be comfortable with providing personal care when required.
  • Full right to work in the UK.
  • An enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new one. A new DBS costs £62, and we will reimburse this fee once you have completed 20 days of work with us.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Most importantly, someone who can be a positive role model, bring a great personality into the classroom and make a genuine difference to the lives of young people.
