Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Stockport.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and adaptable Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting children across Key Stage 1. The role will involve providing both classroom support and 1:1 support for pupils across different year groups, so the successful candidate must be flexible and able to build positive relationships with a range of children.

The Role

As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the wider school team to support pupils with their learning and development. A key part of the role will involve providing targeted 1:1 support, which may vary across different KS1 year groups depending on the needs of the school.

You will need to be confident supporting pupils with their behaviour, helping them to remain engaged in lessons and creating a positive and productive learning environment.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
• Previous experience working within a primary school, ideally across KS1
• A strong knowledge and understanding of phonics
• Excellent behaviour management skills
• Experience providing 1:1 support to pupils with a range of needs
• The ability to adapt to working with different children and across different year groups
• A patient, positive and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
