🌟 BSL Level 2/3 SEND Support Staff - Birmingham 🌟

Are you passionate about supporting young people and confident communicating through British Sign Language (BSL)?

We're looking for enthusiastic, caring and dedicated Support Staff with BSL Level 2 or Level 3 to join fantastic SEND schools and colleges across Birmingham.

🤟 What will you be doing?

As a BSL Support Staff member, you could be working alongside teachers and specialist staff to support students both inside and outside the classroom.

Your role may include:

  • 🤟 Using BSL to support communication and learning
  • 📚 Supporting students with their educational activities and individual learning goals
  • 💬 Helping young people develop their communication, confidence and independence
  • 🌱 Providing encouragement and positive support throughout the school/college day
  • 🧩 Supporting students with a range of SEND needs
  • 💙 Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and students
  • 👥 Working as part of a friendly and supportive team
  • 🎯 Helping students engage in activities, lessons and wider college/school life

🧩 A diverse range of needs

The schools and colleges we work with support young people with a wide range of additional needs. These may include:

  • Severe learning difficulties
  • Complex needs
  • Physical disabilities
  • Sensory needs
  • Communication and interaction needs
  • Autism and other neurodevelopmental needs
  • Hearing impairments
  • Other associated learning and sensory disorders

🤟 What we're looking for

We're looking for candidates who have:

BSL Level 2 or Level 3 qualification
✅ Experience working with children, young people or adults with SEND is desirable
✅ A caring, patient and positive approach
✅ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
✅ The ability to build strong relationships with students
✅ A willingness to get stuck in and be part of the school/college community
Availability for long-term work
✅ A genuine passion for supporting young people to reach their potential
