Looking for HLTA opportunities from September?
Tradewind Recruitment is looking to speak with qualified and experienced HLTAs who may be interested in day-to-day, long-term or permanent opportunities across Bristol from September 2026.
We are building our pool of education professionals for the new academic year and would like to hear from HLTAs with strong secondary school experience, confident classroom management skills and the appropriate qualifications.

The Opportunity
As an HLTA, you could support secondary schools by leading lessons, covering classes, supporting teaching staff and providing targeted support to students.
You may be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons, supporting individuals or small groups and helping maintain a positive learning environment.
This role would suit an experienced HLTA who is confident working independently, managing behaviour and adapting quickly to different school environments.
Your Responsibilities
- Leading and supervising lessons in the absence of teaching staff.
- Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and following school schemes of work.
- Supporting teachers with classroom activities and resources.
- Providing targeted support to individuals and small groups.
- Managing classroom behaviour firmly, fairly and consistently.
- Supporting students with their learning and development.
- Working with students with a range of abilities and additional needs.
- Maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
- Communicating effectively with teachers and school leaders.
- Following safeguarding and school policies.
