We are working in partnership with a friendly and supportive primary school in Daventry who are looking to appoint a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience across the full primary age range, from EYFS through to Year 6, while making a positive difference to children's learning, development, and wellbeing.

What is a Primary Cover Supervisor?

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 during teacher absences. Lesson plans and activities will already be prepared, and your role will be to ensure pupils remain engaged, on task, and supported in a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise classes across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, from Reception through to Year 6
Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities
Support pupils to remain focused, engaged, and on task
Maintain a calm, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
Manage behaviour in line with the school's policies and expectations
Provide appropriate support to pupils throughout lessons and the school day
Encourage positive attitudes towards learning and promote pupil confidence
Liaise with teachers and support staff regarding lesson activities, pupil engagement, and any concerns
Act as a positive role model and uphold the school's values at all times

Who We're Looking For

Experience working with children, whether in education, childcare, coaching, youth work, care, or a similar setting
A confident, patient, and approachable manner
Strong communication and classroom management skills
Someone who is adaptable and comfortable working with children across different year groups
Reliable, organised, and able to work effectively as part of a school team
A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
An interest in pursuing a career within primary education is desirable but not essential
