Salary: £95-£115 per day PAYE

Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant with a background supporting pupils with PMLD, complex needs or profound SEND?

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a specialist school in Barnet who are looking for caring, patient and experienced TAs to join their team. This is a rewarding role where you'll work closely with pupils who require a high level of individual support, helping them develop their communication, independence and confidence.

If you have experience in a specialist school, PMLD setting, care environment or similar, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

You'll be supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including PMLD, SLD, Autism and communication difficulties.

Your day-to-day role may include:

  • 1:1 and small-group support
  • Supporting pupils with PMLD and complex SEND
  • Personal care and daily routines
  • Mobility and physical support
  • Sensory activities and learning
  • Supporting non-verbal pupils
  • Using PECS, Makaton or AAC
  • Supporting EHCP targets
  • Positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Working alongside teachers and therapists

What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in candidates with experience of:

  • PMLD / complex SEND
  • Personal care
  • Hoisting and mobility support
  • Wheelchair users
  • PEG feeding or complex care
  • Autism / SLD
  • PECS, Makaton or AAC
  • Sensory needs
  • Challenging behaviour

You don't necessarily need every skill listed above - relevant hands-on experience and the right attitude are just as important.

Most importantly, you'll be patient, compassionate, reliable and genuinely passionate about supporting young people with complex needs.
