School Cleaner Opportunity

The Role
As a School Cleaner, you will play an important role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the school site.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean classrooms, corridors, offices and communal areas
- Clean and maintain toilets and washroom facilities
- Empty bins and dispose of waste safely and appropriately
- Sweep, mop and vacuum floors
- Dust and clean fixtures, fittings and surfaces
- Report maintenance issues, hazards or damage promptly
- Follow health and safety procedures and COSHH guidelines
- Use cleaning equipment and products safely and correctly
- Support deep cleaning and additional cleaning duties when required
- Maintain consistently high standards of cleanliness across the school
Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Previous cleaning experience within a school, commercial, office or similar environment
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
- Reliable and professional approach to work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Understanding of health and safety and safe working practices
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain confidentiality where required
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience working within a school environment
- Knowledge of COSHH procedures
- Experience using commercial cleaning equipment
Pay and Progression
Pay for this position ranges from £14.50 to £17.50 per hour, depending on experience, responsibilities and assignment requirements.
The highest available rate of £17.50 per hour would typically be offered to candidates with substantial cleaning experience, knowledge of COSHH regulations, experience working within educational or large-site environments and a strong track record of maintaining high standards independently.
