Reception Teaching Assistant

Location: Leyland / Chorley

Duration: Long-term from October

Salary: £94 per day

Are you an Early Years specialist looking for a stable long-term role in a supportive environment? Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and nurturing Teaching Assistant to join a friendly 2-form entry primary school in Leyland / Chorley. This position is to start in September on an ongoing basis.

The Role Working within a collaborative Reception team, you will play a vital role in supporting the transition and development of the school's youngest learners. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Class Teacher in delivering the EYFS curriculum.

  • Leading small group activities focusing on Phonics (Read Write Inc. or similar), early literacy, and numeracy.

  • Observations and contributing to student profiles/assessments.

  • Providing a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment through indoor and outdoor play.

  • Supporting pupils with diverse needs, ensuring every child thrives.

Requirements

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).

  • Proven experience working within an EYFS or Nursery setting.

  • A deep understanding of the EYFS framework.

  • A patient, creative, and energetic approach to learning.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for a new one).

  • Legal right to work in the UK.
