Year 1 Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a supportive and vibrant primary school in Wigan to recruit a dedicated Year 1 Teaching Assistant for an ongoing, full-time position. This role is split between targeted 1-to-1 support for a student with specific needs and general classroom support.
Role Details
Position: Year 1 Teaching Assistant (1-to-1 & General Support)
Location: Wigan
Start Date: Immediate / As soon as possible
Commitment: 5 days a week (Full-Time, Monday to Friday, ongoing basis)
Pay Rate: £94-£99 a day
Key Requirements
Experience: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within Key Stage 1 (Year 1 or 2) or Early Years.
Specialist Skillset: Experience or confidence in providing tailored 1-to-1 support alongside general classroom duties.
Approach: A patient, nurturing, and proactive mindset with strong communication and behaviour management skills.
Commitment: Fully available to work full-time on an ongoing, long-term basis.
What We Are Looking For-
Hold a recognised Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning.
A warm, approachable personality with a genuine passion for early childhood education.
Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Tradewind).
CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible, and any employment breaks must be explained.
Legal right to work in the UK.
