Are you an experienced SEMH Support Worker looking for an exciting new opportunity where you can genuinely make a difference?
We are currently recruiting for a fantastic specialist education provision in Leicester City Centre, who are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Support Worker to join their team immediately.
This is a unique and exciting provision that offers bespoke education tailored to the individual needs of every learner. The setting provides a supportive, nurturing and engaging environment where young people are given the opportunity to build confidence, develop life skills and achieve their potential.
The Role
As an SEMH Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting learners who may have a range of social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them to engage positively with education and develop the skills they need to succeed.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to learners.
Supporting students with SEMH and associated behavioural needs.
Building positive, trusting relationships with young people.
Helping learners to regulate their emotions and manage challenging situations.
Encouraging engagement with learning and wider activities.
Supporting the delivery of personalised and bespoke learning programmes.
Working closely with teachers and the wider support team.
Promoting positive behaviour, independence and confidence.
Acting as a positive role model and providing consistent encouragement.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
Experienced working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
Patient, resilient and empathetic.
Confident supporting challenging behaviour.
Able to build strong and meaningful relationships with young people.
Calm and consistent in their approach.
Passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to education.
A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
Available to start immediately.
Experience within a specialist school, alternative provision, residential setting, youth work, care or similar environment would be highly desirable.
