DT Teacher (SEMH setting)

Location: Salford
Contract: Full-Time - Full Academic Year
Start Date: ASAP

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced DT Teacher to join a specialist SEMH high school in Salford. This is a full-time role for the full academic year, starting as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will have experience teaching Design Technology and a strong understanding of working with pupils with SEMH and additional needs. You will be confident creating engaging, practical lessons while maintaining a calm, structured and supportive classroom environment.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold QTS or relevant teaching qualifications and have experience teaching DT.
  • Have proven experience working with pupils with SEMH and additional needs.
  • Be confident managing challenging behaviour using positive and consistent strategies.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, practical DT lessons that are accessible to pupils with a range of abilities.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils and understand the barriers that can affect their learning.
  • Be calm, patient and resilient, with a nurturing approach to supporting pupils.
  • Work effectively with support staff and colleagues to provide consistent pastoral and academic support.
