Key Worker Tutor - Year 11 Student

Urmston | Alternative Provision & Community-Based Support | 2 Days Per Week | Immediate Start

Pay: £25-£35 per hour (dependent on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a compassionate and resilient Key Worker Tutor to support a Year 11 student in Urmston with diagnoses of ADHD, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and Dyslexia.

The young person has experienced difficulties engaging with education and services due to high anxiety, and significant barriers in literacy and numeracy. As part of a carefully planned intervention, the student will attend Alternative Provision (AP) two days per week, with the aim of gradually rebuilding trust, confidence, routine, and engagement with learning and support services.

The Role

  • Provide tailored 1:1 academic and pastoral support.
  • Support the student within Alternative Provision and the wider community.
  • Help improve engagement, attendance, motivation, and confidence.
  • Deliver literacy and numeracy interventions suited to the student's individual needs.
  • Adapt learning approaches to support ADHD, ASC, and Dyslexia.
  • Build a positive, trusting relationship that promotes emotional wellbeing and resilience.
  • Liaise with professionals, school staff, and family members to support agreed outcomes.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting young people with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and SEMH needs.
  • Background in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, support work, or Alternative Provision.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a calm, patient approach.
  • Understanding of anxiety-based school avoidance and barriers to engagement.
  • Experience supporting learners with literacy and numeracy difficulties is highly desirable.
