This opportunity would suit an experienced practitioner or an appropriately qualified teacher looking to develop their career within a supportive secondary setting.

The Role

As a History Teacher, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering engaging History lessons across the relevant secondary key stages.
  • Teaching historical events, themes and interpretations in line with the curriculum.
  • Developing students' source analysis, evidence-based writing and critical thinking.
  • Assessing progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching to meet different learning needs.
  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, participation and academic achievement.
  • Contributing to departmental planning and working collaboratively with colleagues.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to communicate historical concepts clearly.
  • Experience teaching History at secondary level, with familiarity with the relevant curriculum.
  • Effective classroom management and a commitment to positive learning environments.
  • A professional approach to safeguarding, assessment and student development.
