Primary Supply Teacher
Croydon, South London | £160-£165 per day PAYE | Flexible Working Pattern | Temporary Daily Supply
Tradewind Recruitment is seeking qualified Primary Supply Teachers to work across a variety of mainstream primary schools throughout Croydon. Whether you're an experienced teacher looking for greater flexibility or an Early Career Teacher seeking to broaden your classroom experience, this is an excellent opportunity to work in a range of primary settings while maintaining control over your schedule.
Role Summary
As a Primary Supply Teacher, you will provide high-quality classroom cover for planned and unplanned teacher absences. Assignments may include day-to-day supply, short-term bookings and longer-term opportunities depending on your availability and preferences.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons provided by the class teacher
  • Teach across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 depending on experience and school requirements
  • Maintain classroom routines and behaviour expectations
  • Support pupils to remain engaged and make progress during lessons
  • Adapt quickly to different school environments and year groups
  • Complete routine classroom duties including registers and handovers
  • Create a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment
  • Follow school safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures
  • Provide feedback to school staff at the end of each assignment
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - ECTs welcome!
  • Previous teaching experience within UK primary schools
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Good knowledge of the primary curriculum
  • Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons
  • A flexible, reliable and professional approach
  • The ability to travel to schools across Croydon and arrive by approximately 8:15am-8:30am
  • A commitment to safeguarding and supporting children's well being
Pay and Progression
This role offers £155-£165 per day PAYE, dependent on experience and individual assignment requirements. £155 for ECTs and £160+ for Qualified Teachers and you can achieve £165 if agreed to travel beyond your preferred distance.
