Working Pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay: £174.71-£240.70 per day, dependent on experience
Teaching: Key Stage 3 English - delivery only

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting for an English Teacher to join a secondary school in the Cheshire West area from 30 November 2026 until 11 January 2027.

This is a genuine, full-time teaching vacancy offering an excellent opportunity for a qualified English Teacher seeking a short-term assignment without the additional workload of planning and preparing lessons.

All lessons will be planned and prepared, allowing the successful candidate to focus on delivering engaging KS3 English lessons, managing the classroom and supporting pupils' learning.

The position would particularly suit an experienced English Teacher who enjoys classroom teaching but is looking for a role with fewer responsibilities outside lesson delivery.

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will deliver pre-planned lessons to pupils across Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9), maintaining continuity of learning throughout the assignment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering pre-planned KS3 English lessons

• Teaching reading, writing, comprehension and language skills

• Supporting pupils with literature and creative writing activities

• Explaining lesson content clearly and engaging pupils in learning

• Adapting delivery to support different abilities and learning needs

• Maintaining positive classroom behaviour and established routines

• Monitoring pupil engagement and providing appropriate feedback

• Following school safeguarding and behaviour policies

• Working professionally with English department colleagues

There is no requirement to plan or prepare lessons for this assignment. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver the work provided and maintain a productive classroom environment.

The Ideal English Teacher

We are particularly interested in candidates who:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

• Have experience teaching English in a secondary school

• Are confident delivering KS3 English

• Have strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature

• Demonstrate effective classroom and behaviour management

• Can deliver pre-prepared lessons confidently and independently

• Build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues

• Are reliable, adaptable and professional

• Can commit to the assignment from 30 November 2026 until 11 January 2027
