Pay: £155-£165 per day PAYE, dependent on experience and individual assignment
Travel: Applicants must be able to travel to primary schools across Sutton
Typical arrival time: 8:15am-8:30am
Tradewind Recruitment is looking for qualified Primary Supply Teachers to provide temporary absence cover across mainstream primary schools throughout Sutton.
Whether you're an experienced Primary Teacher looking for greater flexibility or an ECT keen to broaden your classroom experience, supply teaching offers the opportunity to work across different primary settings while maintaining control over your availability.
Opportunities may include day-to-day supply, block bookings and longer-term temporary assignments across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
The Role
As a Primary Supply Teacher, you'll provide temporary classroom cover in primary schools across Sutton.
Responsibilities include:
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons provided by the absent class teacher.
  • Providing teaching cover across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, depending on your experience and individual school requirements.
  • Maintaining established classroom routines and behaviour expectations.
  • Supporting pupils to remain engaged and focused throughout the school day.
  • Adapting quickly to different schools, year groups and classroom environments.
  • Completing routine classroom responsibilities, including registers and assemblies where required.
  • Supervising and supporting pupils throughout the school day where required.
  • Providing appropriate handover information to school staff.
  • Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Following individual school safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures.
For day-to-day supply assignments, you'll generally be delivering existing lesson plans rather than taking responsibility for long-term planning.
Who Should Apply?
Applications are welcomed from ECTs and experienced qualified primary teachers.
You'll need:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within UK primary schools.
  • A good understanding of the primary curriculum.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons.
  • The ability to adapt quickly to different primary school environments.
  • A professional, reliable and flexible approach.
  • Willingness to work across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 where appropriate.
  • The ability to travel to assignments across Sutton and arrive by approximately 8:15am-8:30am.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and supporting children's wellbeing.
Pay
ECTs: From £155 per day PAYE.
Experienced qualified teachers: Typically £160-£165 per day PAYE, dependent on experience and individual assignment.
All advertised rates are paid via PAYE.
