Science Teacher - Full-Time Long-Term Supply | South Manchester | July 2027

Tradewind are recruiting! Are you a qualified Science Teacher looking for a long-term opportunity in South Manchester?

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a well-regarded secondary school in South Manchester to recruit a Science Teacher for a full-time supply role starting as soon as possible and continuing until at least July 2027.

Daily rate: £174 to £240 per day (PAYE, depending on experience)

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing, academically focused school with motivated students, strong academic expectations and a supportive Science department.

The Role

  • Science Teacher - teaching across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm
  • Start date: As soon as possible, continuing until at least July 2027
  • Delivering general Science across KS3
  • Teaching Foundation Combined Science Biology, Chemistry and Physics to Year 10
  • Teaching Physics to Year 12 Applied Science BTEC
  • Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons
  • Working within a collaborative and experienced Science department

Ideally, the successful candidate will be confident delivering across the three Science disciplines at KS3 and Foundation Combined Science at KS4, alongside having the subject knowledge to teach Physics at KS5 BTEC level.

This role would suit a versatile Science teacher who enjoys working across different age groups and abilities and can bring enthusiasm and strong subject knowledge to the classroom.

What You'll Need

  • QTS, QTLS or ECT status
  • Strong Science subject knowledge, ideally with a Physics specialism
  • Confidence teaching across KS3 and KS4, with the ability to deliver Year 12 Applied Science BTEC Physics
  • Positive and confident classroom management skills
  • A full CV covering your employment and education history, with any gaps explained
  • The legal right to work in the UK

The role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (where applicable) and satisfactory professional references.
