Day-today roles as a Primary School Teacher

  • Create daily lesson plans for each ability group

Will I need any Qualifications?


Yes, you will need specific qualifications to become a Primary School Teacher. There are many different courses you get your QTS, however. One option is that once you have a Degree, you can follow it up with a Graduate Certificate in Education, School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) or employment based school training programmes. Alternatively, you can take the Teach First Programme. However, you will need a 2:1 or better in an applicable subject area, 300 UCAS points and GCSE grades C or above in core subjects.


Other Requirements to work as a Teacher

  • A* - C GSCE qualifications in all core subjects
  • Work experience within a Primary School
  • Pass a numeracy and literacy test
  • You will need a DBS check
