Summer activity/learning resources for primary students


Youngsters might be out of the classroom for the summer, but their learning doesn’t have to stop as a result.

These resources for primary students can help children to keep their brains active and feature an array of activity packs and creative ideas.

From activity books to printable worksheets, Twinkl has an abundance of ideas to promote creative thinking and puzzle solving.

The summer-themed resources, including colouring packs and mix and match games, can be printed as PDFs, with others available to those with a membership.

The Education Hub

As a result of the pandemic, the Department for Education to numerous catch-up programmes and activities for pupils of all ages across England.

Details of these can be found at the Education Hub, with numerous resources to support those aged 4-16.

Alongside science resources, there are also links to the Oak National Academy which features free lesson plans and other activities that youngsters can do at home over the summer.

Learning Resources

Packed full of free activity sheets, Learning Resources has everything that primary teachers may need to promote fun and engaging educational games for the summer.

From mastering the basics to developing learning skills, there’s also a set of outdoor activities which can be used to encourage youngsters to enjoy gardens and other outdoor spaces.

The majority of the resources can be easily printed to help youngsters with their learning, giving them a chance to look at key stage one maths and literacy activities in addition to plenty of fun games.
