Tradewind are currently working with an excellent school in the East Riding of Yorkshire, who require an Art teacher to start as soon as possible on an ongoing basis. You will be covering a period of absence due to sickness, so the exact length of the contract is difficult to determine, but they are expecting this position to last until at least February half term, with a strong possibility of this extending to last until Easter. To start with, you will be provided with all of the planning and marking from an outstanding head of department, and you will simply be using your expertise and experience to ensure the students are receiving specialist support. If this becomes a longer term requirement, you may be asked to plan and mark. In terms of payment, this will depend on the responsibilities that the successful applicant takes on. At the start, with no planning and marking, payment will be between £110.00 and £130.00 depending on experience and qualifications. With planning and marking, payment will be between £120.00 and £170.00 per day, again depending on qualifications and experience. You will be working four days a week, the days being: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.


The School in question is a large Academy with good transport links and a strong sense of community spirit. Being just outside of Hull, it is most easily accessed via car, and it has a large onsite carpark that provides ample parking for candidates who do drive. Having over 1,500 students, this is a large school that caters for many of the surrounding villages and students coming from Hull. The students are diverse, and have a diverse range of needs and behaviour. We are looking for a practitioner who is experienced teaching Art to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students. Having experience teaching Photography to Key Stage 4 students is an advantage but in no way essential.
