We are working with a SEND school near Bath, and they are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to work with young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties for 5 days a week ongoing until end of the academic year. The school is a Specialist provision catering for pupils with BESD and Attachment Disorders. They require this Teaching Assistant to have experience of supporting children and young adults with challenging behaviour and emotional difficulties. The experience of working with people from similar background or challenges is highly desirable.

The position will start immediately and will be ongoing with the possibility of becoming a permanent position.

Most of the work will involve 1:1 intervention sessions as well as supporting Secondary aged pupils in class. Previous experience of working with young people with BESD is essential. It will be expected that candidates will have good communication skills and appropriate qualifications to be able to meet these high standards.

Must have:
-Experience with supporting young people with EBD in the past
-Team Teach Training
-Behaviour management Training or experience

Highly Desirable:

-Special Educational Needs Experience in a Prison or school setting
-Understanding and experience of supporting/teaching young people with attachment disorder and challenging behaviour
-Training in Learning Support.

Monitor students learning, social, emotional and behavioural progress against targets and report to the teachers of any changes.
Be aware of Safeguarding and Behaviour policies of the settings you work in and adhere to the policies.

* Have experience of working with challenging students
* Have active interest in sports.
*Have Special Educational Needs (SEN) knowledge and experience working with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH); although not essential.
* Have your own car and be willing to get business insurance on your car.

*Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
*Have a CV covering at least 10 years employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
*Have the legal right to work in the UK
