Are you trained in British Sign Language to at least level 2?

Tradewind Recruitment have the opportunity for a trained BSL Specialist to work in a very unique environment with children who have varying levels of Hearing Impairments. We require a confident individual who can utilise their skills to best assist the students in their development of BSL.

This specialist service is set up to provide students that have a Hearing Impairment a chance to access the mainstream curriculum along with support for learning how to communicate using BSL through targeted and individualised support. A lot of students can be lacking in confidence and have some SEMH problems due to the nature of their disability and lack of communication with peers.

The ideal candidate with have the following:
*A BSL qualification to minimum level 2
*Experience of working with children with communication difficulties
*Patience to work with learners who can become frustrated and need reassurance
*Examples of when they have instilled confidence
*A willingness to learn and develop skills

The setting is easily accessible with good transport links and plenty of parking spaces on site, however you may be required to support an individual within their school placement from time to time. The successful individual will be required to work as part of the support team ensuring all pupils get access to the resources and BSL support they require. You will provide the individuals with continuity, reassurance and the enthusiasm to succeed. Applying yourself you will be a positive role model who demonstrates that success is achievable through breaking down barriers. In return we can offer a negotiable pay scale between £60- £90 for the day, dependant on hours and experience held.
