Job Title: Early Years Teaching Assistant - Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Focus

Location: London Borough of Lambeth, Primary School

Do you have a heart for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in their early years of education? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Early Years Teaching Assistant with a focus on SEND support.

The Role: As an Early Years Teaching Assistant with a focus on SEND support, you will work closely with our dedicated team of educators to provide tailored assistance to pupils with special educational needs. Your role will involve:

  • Providing one-on-one support to SEND pupils during classroom activities and lessons.
  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for SEND students.
  • Collaborating with other professionals, such as SENCOs and external specialists, to ensure the holistic development and well-being of SEND pupils.
  • Creating a nurturing and supportive environment where all children feel valued and included.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young children, particularly those with SEND, is highly desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children in their early years.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with both students and colleagues.
  • Flexibility, patience, and empathy when working with children who have diverse learning needs.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in childcare, education, or special educational needs would be advantageous.
