Our client school is a co-educational 11-16 comprehensive in Surrey. Their goal is to provide the best possible standard of teaching and learning so that students have the necessary qualifications and skills to be successful in whatever future path they choose.
Parents and students love the calm and friendly atmosphere and purposeful classrooms. Staff work with dedication, building strong relationships that help each child achieve their very best. Students grasp with both hands the huge variety of extra-curricular opportunities available to them.
They offer a full induction programme for all new staff and ongoing, regular CPD.
The job role will include:
*Supervising work that has been set in accordance with the school policies
*Managing the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive environment
*Responding to any questions from pupils about process and procedures
Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school's policies and procedures
*Collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher
*Reporting back as appropriate using the school's agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class and any issues arising.
In general terms, those undertaking cover supervision should:
*Have the necessary skills to manage safely classroom activities, the physical learning space and resources for which they are responsible.
*Be familiar with the full range of school policies, particularly those regarding health and safety, equal opportunity issues and special educational needs (SEN)
*understand and be able to use a range of strategies to deal with classroom behaviour as a whole and also individual behavioural needs.
To join us and be successful in this Girls PE/ Cover Supervisor role, you will need to:
*Have an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
*Have a CV that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained.
*Have the legal right to work in the UK.
