Are you an engaging and passionate Music Teacher seeking an exciting opportunity from September?
Would you like to work in an Outstanding grammar school to cover maternity leading a popular Music department?

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a larger than average secondary school and sixth form in South Essex, who are seeking a Head of Music to join their welcoming Performing Arts department. The successful Music Teacher will have the pleasure of working in a high achieving grammar school, where students achieve academic excellence and develop exceptional personal qualities.

Although the school achieves very well when compared to others nationally, this Outstanding grammar school continues to progress and identify areas of improvement through sophisticated tracking systems. Students are proud to be part of the school, they have excellent attitudes towards learning and display exemplary behaviour. Music and Performing Arts subjects and extracurricular activities are popular within the school.

With Music playing a key role within its community, the schools offered an extensive range of extracurricular activities for all musical abilities. The school hosts a variety of events, concerts, and shows throughout the year to showcase the work of their talented students. As Head of Music, you will play a vital role in such productions and be key to upholding the love and interest in Music across the school.

The successful Music Teacher will be:
Able to confidently teach pupils up to GCSE at least and ideally have a proven track record of successful exam results. Experience with KS5 would be preferable.
A dedicated and reliable teacher who will lead by example and collaborate with staff across the school.
A committed practitioner, who will attain the highest standards in teaching and learning throughout their department.
A driven individual who will support and lead on the delivery of their lessons through creative approaches to the Music and Performing Arts curriculum.

To be successful in this Head of Music Teaching role you will:
Hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualifications.
Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable and professional reference checks.
Provide a CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, where possible, and any employment breaks must be explained.
Have the legal right to work in the UK.
