On behalf of our client school, Tradewind are looking to appoint an experienced Primary teacher to deliver interventions on a Tuesday and Wednesday to pupils in Year 4 and 5. This is a part-time teacher post which will run for at least a 6 week period with the possibility of an extension. Teachers with intervention experience and good behaviour management are warmly encouraged to apply.

About the Role

This is a part-time role (Tuesday and Wednesday) which heavily focuses on delivering targeted interventions to pupils not meeting age related expectations in Year 4 and Year 5. The successful candidate will be experienced teaching in KS2 and have a thorough up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the KS2 Curriculum and age-related expectations. This role will cover a 6-week period (with the potential to be extended) and will suit an individual who has good behaviour management and is looking for a part-time role.

As a teacher joining the KS2 department, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering targeted interventions in both literacy and numeracy to pupils in Year 4 and 5
  • Communicate effectively with class teachers across KS2 to discuss individual pupil needs
  • Build a positive rapport with all pupils and display good behaviour management skills
  • Keep up to date records of assessment based on verbal and written feedback and reflect on when and what to reteach without disrupting the pace of curriculum content to be taught.
  • Work well independently as well as part of the KS2 team and communicate effectively to feedback on pupil progress
  • Use modern technology to enhance learning opportunities

Essential requirements:

  • QTS (or an equivalent teaching qualification)
  • A minimum of 2 Years of teaching experience teaching in a KS2 setting
  • Demonstrated success in KS2 with excellent references to support your previous experience
  • Provide a CV with 10 years employment history and explanations of any CV gaps
  • Be subject to an enhanced DBS check and Overseas Police Check (if applicable).
  • Have a right to work in the UK
