The Role:
As a Long-Term SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting a student in Year 5 with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Your responsibilities will include providing in-class support, facilitating small group and 1-to-1 interventions, and maintaining effective communication with the student, staff, and parents. The role is full-time and will commence from April 2024 until July 2024.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with the SENCO to provide targeted support to the student with SEN
- Assisting in-class to create an inclusive learning environment
- Conducting small group and 1-to-1 interventions to address individual needs
- Working collaboratively with the school team while also demonstrating the ability to work independently
Requirements:
- Experience in supporting pupils with SEN across Primary age groups
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Desirable to have a degree-level education and experience with Makaton
- Experience in supporting students with Global Development Delay would be advantageous but not essential
