Tradewind Preston are working in partnership with a multi academy trust that looks after eight Primary and Schools located across Lancashire and Fylde. We are seeking to recruit an experienced Level 3 SSA to work within one of the trusts 'Improving' CE Blackburn Primary School. Starting in October 2018 until February 2019, this is a temp to perm position.

This is a busy and friendly school, with lots going on. The school has the highest academic aspirations and, at the same time, maintains a caring, family orientated culture, with a high level of pastoral care. Pupils attending the school come from the surrounding estates, many of whom come from absent families and have a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues. There is a strong focus in school on supporting pupil's emotions and behaviour both in and out of the classroom.

The ideal candidate for this role will have had a minimum of 2 years' experience working as Level 3 Teaching Assistant and have excellent classroom-based references. Evidence of raising attainment with lower ability pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis is highly sought after for this role as there are pupils who are working below national age expectations and require intense boosters.

The ideal candidate will have well-developed communication skills, a commitment to personal upskilling and an enthusiasm and ability to adapt to challenging situations. Behaviour management and an understanding nature is essential for this role as there are several vulnerable pupils with complex and additional needs attending the school. The successful candidate must demonstrate that your teaching over time is consistently good or Outstanding and be an ambitious professional with high aspirations for the children and families with whom you work.

The School is located in Blackburn and is easily accessible via public transport.
