Position: Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Manchester
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
The Role:
As a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant in our Year 2 class, you will play a crucial role in supporting the classroom teacher and facilitating the learning and development of our young learners. You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and interactive lessons, providing targeted support to individual students as needed. From assisting with classroom activities to offering pastoral care and guidance, you will contribute to creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the class teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences
- Work with small groups or individual students to provide targeted intervention and support
- Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies
- Create resources and materials to support teaching and learning activities
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Contribute to the planning and assessment process, including tracking student progress
Requirements:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably within Key Stage 1
- Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- A passion for supporting the learning and development of young children
- Relevant qualifications or training in education or childcare (desirable)
