Position Overview:
The primary focus of this role will be teaching Key Stage 3 students, with some responsibilities involving Key Stage 4 as well. As a Teacher of Maths, you'll play a pivotal role in nurturing students' mathematical fluency, problem-solving abilities, and appreciation for the subject's real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster conceptual understanding and fluency in mathematical fundamentals
- Encourage problem-solving skills through real-world applications
- Cultivate an appreciation for mathematics within historical, cultural, and societal contexts
- Promote independent and cooperative learning among students
- Effectively communicate mathematical concepts using various modes
- Emphasise the interconnectedness of different branches of mathematics
- Equip students with the skills to apply mathematical concepts in everyday scenarios
- Encourage critical thinking and hypothesis testing through mathematical investigation
- Integrate mathematics across the curriculum to enhance interdisciplinary learning
- Provide a solid foundation for further study in mathematics
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge in mathematics
- Previous experience teaching mathematics at Key Stage 3 and/or Key Stage 4
- Dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development
Remuneration:
The salary for this position is to scale, offering a competitive day rate ranging from £153.85 to £211.96, commensurate with experience.
