Tradewind are now working with an Outstanding School in Tower Hamlets, East London who are looking for a Pastoral Officer (Safeguarding) to teach in their lovely Secondary School who will be part of an Integrated Therapeutic Provision. If you haven't worked in SEN before, but are enthusiastic and motivated to make the move, you will be given the additional training and support you require.

Required education, skills, and abilities



· Safeguarding experience is essential for this post

· Experience of Safeguarding within a professional setting

· Previous administration experience.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Ability to manage a varied workload.

· Good IT skills including intermediate abilities in all MS Office programmes.

· Time management skills to be able to plan and regulate workload including the ability to prioritise demands and thrive under pressure.

· A flexible approach to work.





The person

To provide high quality care for all pupils
To support and guide all pupils in their personal development
To help reduce the social and emotional barriers to learning for vulnerable pupils
To ensure high standards of behaviour across all assigned year groups.
To play a full role in the management of behaviour in the school
To supervise whole school sanctions such as detention and isolation as part of pastoral duties
To act as a mentor for targeted pupils and monitor their behaviour.
To investigate incidents of poor pupil behaviour as they arise or as directed
To keep up-to-date records of pupil behaviour, actions taken and parental meetings using the school's information management systems
To contact and meet with parents where appropriate
To support the Behaviour InclusionTeam in organising, managing, supervising and evaluating pastoral events during the course of the academic year
