PMLD Teaching Assistant

Are you a caring and dedicated individual with a heart for supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). Tradewind Recruitment is actively seeking experienced PMLD Teaching Assistants to join our team, providing crucial assistance in both Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a SEN School in Cardiff.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Personalised Support: Offer tailored assistance to students with PMLD, ensuring their unique needs are met with patience and understanding.

2. Assisted Technology: Familiarity with and support in the use of assisted technology to enhance learning experiences.

3. Multi-sensory Activities: Facilitate engaging and stimulating multi-sensory activities to encourage sensory exploration and development.

4. Collaborative Planning: Work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement individualised education plans (IEPs).

5. Mobility and Personal Care: Provide support with mobility and personal care as required for students with PMLD.

Requirements:

1. Relevant Experience: Previous experience working with students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities is highly desirable.

2. Empathy and Patience: Demonstrate a compassionate and patient approach in providing support to students with complex needs.

3. Communication Skills: Effectively communicate with students, colleagues, and parents, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

4. Adaptability: Be flexible and responsive to the evolving needs of students, adjusting support strategies accordingly.

5. Enhanced DBS Check: Successful candidates must undergo an enhanced DBS check.

· Experience working in both Special Educational Needs (SEN)
