Primary Teaching Assistant needed for an outstanding Special Needs Primary school in Trafford!

Our client, a highly respected SEND primary school in the Trafford area, is seeking a passionate, adaptable, and dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team.

Role: Primary Teaching Assistant at a special needs primary school for young people aged 3-11 with Autism, Complex Needs and PMLD.

Location: Trafford

Start date: ASAP

Contract: Full time & long term. Could be temp to perm for the right person.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:30pm

Pay: Up to £90/day

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one & small group support to pupils with Complex Needs.
• Assist in implementing personalised learning plans, tailored to individual students' requirements.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging students' engagement and emotional well-being.
• Some pupils require support with changing, toileting, feeding, personal hygiene, moving & handling and other life skills.
• Some pupils need to use wheelchairs and hoists to aid movement.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to develop effective strategies and interventions.

Requirements:

• Previous experience supporting primary aged pupils (essential).
• Some experience assisting young people with special needs in either a professional or personal capacity.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
• Resilience, patience, and a compassionate approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
