This is a lovely 11-16 school that follows a traditional community school model. It has high expectations of its students but understands that all students are different and success should be fostered in whatever form it takes, not just academic. This school therefore teaches in a holistic manor and allows its teachers the freedom to make lessons creative and inspiring. Science has performed well at the school and last year's GCSE results were well above the national average for pupils achieving 5 to 9 grades. The department has excellent facilities, having recently been fully refurbished and is well staffed.
