As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in preparing materials, equipment, and resources for practical science lessons, helping to inspire and engage students in their scientific education.
Position: Science Technician
Location: Sandbach
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (Potential to become Permanent)
Pay: £80 - £100 per day
Responsibilities:
- Preparing materials, chemicals, and equipment for science experiments and demonstrations
- Setting up and dismantling laboratory equipment and apparatus
- Ensuring the safe storage and disposal of hazardous substances
- Assisting teachers and students during practical lessons
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in science laboratories and storage areas
- Conducting routine maintenance and calibration of scientific equipment
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a similar role
- A passion for science and a desire to support student learning
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations and general procedures in a laboratory setting for safe practice
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one
