SEMH Teacher
Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a experienced Teacher to join this supportive primary PRU as a SEMH teacher. This is a full time, long-term role starting ASAP for the full academic year and upon review there will be an opportunity to go permanent.
The School:
The school supports children from Islington primary schools with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs who have been permanently excluded, allocated a place through SEN consultation or via the Securing Education Board on a short-term placement. A high number of pupils here also have an additional diagnosis of autism and/or ADHD. Class sizes are therefore smaller with up to six pupils per class and there is a high staff-to-pupil ratio so that children are given the correct support when needed across the school day.
As a SEN teacher you will be responsible for the below:
· Planning and assessing pupils with SEMH
· Working with the TAs and mentors to put in place and run interventions.
· Support and implement the schools behaviour policy
· Updating and setting targets for children
· Working alongside other professionals in the support network
To join us and be successful in this role you will need:
· Full QTS
· Previous experience working with children with SEMH
· Strong behaviour management skills
· An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
· Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
· Legal right to work in the UK
