Are you a dedicated educator passionate about making a positive impact on students with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

Position: KS3 Teacher

Contract Type: Full-time, Maternity Cover (1-year contract)

Start Date: Summer Term

About the Role:

As a KS3 Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a small class of 6 students, providing them with holistic support in their social, academic, and emotional development. While the class is Key Stage 3, the curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of students at a Key Stage 2 level. This unique environment welcomes both primary and secondary educators who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with EBD and SEMH.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with Teaching Assistants and other staff members to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and individualized interventions to address challenging behaviours effectively.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to facilitate their development.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience working with students with EBD and SEMH preferred.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH issues and the ability to employ effective strategies to support students' emotional well-being.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Resilience, patience, and empathy when working with students facing behavioural challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
