A large mainstream primary school in the London borough of Waltham Forest would like to appoint an SEN teaching assistant to support a small group of children with Autism throughout KS1 and KS2.

You will work predominantly with x2 children on a 1-1 basis. The role will also involve supporting small focused teaching groups for targeted children across the school. The hours are 8.30am to 4pm and the role is term time only.

This role is due to start in September 2020.

The headteacher is keen to recruit an experienced SEN TA who has at least 1 full years experience supporting children in KS1 or KS2 with Autism. You will need to be someone who demonstrates a calm, assertive, nurturing approach and must have excellent knowledge and experience working with children who have Autism and any other special educational needs.

The school is looking for an SEN TA who:

Has at least one years experience supporting children with SEN
Has experience as a teaching assistant
Commitment to the school and open to development
Graduates with backgrounds in Psychology, Music or Drama would be also of interest if you demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm and some relevant experience with Autism.
