We are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant in Salford!
Role - SEND Teaching Assistant at special needs high school in Salford.
Times - Monday to Friday 8:15am-3:15pm.
Contract - Start ASAP, full time, long term, possible temp to perm for the right person.
Pay - Up to £90/day. Paid PAYE via Tradewind.
The Role, School & Pupils
- Supporting students in the schools Designated Provision for young people who are emotionally dysregulated.
- You may be working 1:1 but mostly in small groups.
- Some students may display challenging behaviours so you will need to build strong trusting relationships quickly while using specific prevention and de-escalation strategies.
- Lovely welcoming, inclusive & supportive special needs high school in Salford.
- All students have an EHCP for Autism, Learning Difficulties, Complex Needs, Sensory or Communication difficulties.
- Class sizes of no more than 8 pupils including TA support.
- Rated outstanding by Ofsted and alsways receives excellent feedback from temporary staff.
- Collaborative teamwork atmosphere.
- Welcoming and inclusive environment with focus on safety, pupil outcomes and fun.
- Excellent facilities & resources that help enable & enhace their holistic curriculum offer.

Requirements
- Positive disposition with a teamwork nature.
- Able to adapt approach to meet the differing needs of each student in your class.
- Students are grouped by similar needs and levels rather than by age.
- Manage challenging behaviour and emotions.
- Working collaboratively with other Teaching Assistants, management, parents and outside agencies.
- Must promote a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
To join us and be successful in this SEND Teaching Assistant role in Salford you will need to:
- Have an enhanced DBS certificate that is on the Update Service (or be happy to pay for a new one).
- Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
- Minimum of two professional references checks.
- Provide a CV with full education & work.
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
- Some experience supporting children with special needs.
