Have you worked as a SEND Teaching Assistant or Support Worker?

About the role:

• SEND Teaching Assistant in special secondary school & college.
• Start date ASAP
• Full time and long term with the potential to turn in to a permanent contract.
• Pay up to £75 per day.
• Supporting a range of pupils in the school sometimes 1:1, sometimes in groups.
• You must have previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant or as a Support Worker with Special Needs.

About the pupils:

• All students are aged 11-25 and all have an EHCP for Special Needs including Autism, Complex Needs or SLD.
• Some pupils require intensive 1:1 or 2:1 support.
• Experience with Autism OR Physical Needs is essential.
• Pupils are both verbal or non-verbal so some will need support with Speech & Language and use PECS or Makaton to communicate.
• Some pupils can display challenging behaviours so any SEN Teaching Assistant in this role will need strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills.
