Position: SENDCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)

Role Overview: Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join the school team. As a non-class based role with no teaching responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to focus solely on supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the provision of SEN support across the school
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to develop individualized support plans for students with SEN
  • Monitor the progress of SEN students and make necessary adjustments to support strategies
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on best practices for supporting SEN students in the classroom
  • Liaise with parents/carers to ensure effective communication and partnership in supporting students' needs
  • Conduct assessments and participate in the identification and assessment process for students requiring SEN support
  • Deliver 1:1 support to students with the highest needs as required

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with students with SEN in an educational setting
  • Strong understanding of SEN legislation, policies, and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the role
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
