A popular secondary school located in the district of Maldon are currently seeking a full-time teacher of Physical Education and Science to join their team of staff ASAP. The school is easily accessible by car and public transport with on-site parking available for staff and visitors. This is an ongoing requirement, with the school offering either a permanent/fixed term contract or long term supply agreement.
The KS3 weighted timetable in place is fairly evenly split between both PE and Science. Although their preference would be to have one teacher in place to cover both subjects, specialists in either subject are also encouraged to apply as adjustments could be made for the right PE or Science teacher.
The school is well-run and well-organised by an inspirational Headteacher, with student's achievement and well-being at the heart of what the school stands for. The team of teaching and support staff are hard-working and supportive with high standards and expectations. Students behave well in lessons and around the school, with less able pupils being well supported and achieving well. The successful PE and Science teacher will be:
Able to confidently teach both subjects at KS3 - there will be some KS4 included but schemes of work are in place.
A committed practitioner, who will want to attain the highest standards in teaching and learning throughout their role.
A collaborative and driven individual who will support and lead on the delivery of their lessons through creative approaches to the curriculum.

To be successful in this PE and Science teaching role you will:
Hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualifications.
Ideally hold a degree in either Physical Education, Sports Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics.
Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable and professional reference checks.
Provide a CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, where possible, and any employment breaks must be explained.
Have the legal right to work in the UK.
